banglalink has launched Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) for the first time in Bangladesh and bringing with it a smarter and more reliable way to stay connected. In a country where call quality is often affected by network congestion, rural coverage gaps, and weak indoor signals, this launch could not have come at a better time. VoWiFi allows users to make regular voice calls using WiFi networks instead of relying solely on mobile signals. Whether you are at home, in the office, or in areas with limited coverage, VoWiFi ensures your voice calls remain strong and uninterrupted.
This pilot service has been rolled out in parts of Dhaka and Chattogram in partnership with selected Internet Service Providers and with approval from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission. And the best part — it comes at no additional cost for users.
Why this matters for Bangladesh:
✅ Better call quality with high definition voice
✅ Fewer dropped calls even in low signal zones
✅ Stronger indoor connectivity in urban and rural settings
✅ A more efficient use of existing network infrastructure
As Engr. Md Ariful Huq, MBA, FIEB has noted on December 8, 2024 in his article, VoWiFi has already proven its impact in countries across North America, Europe, and Asia. It reduces the load on mobile networks while enabling seamless communication across different environments. (To read the article: https://lnkd.in/gzcEZaaB)
Banglalink’s move is more than a technological upgrade. It is a user focused solution that brings Bangladesh closer to a truly digital future. With continued collaboration among telecom providers, policymakers, and internet partners, VoWiFi can help reshape the voice communication experience for millions.
